What is your favorite aspect of working at MCG?
I love that we can do more together than we can alone. Everyone on the team matters!
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I enjoy traveling new places and looking at real estate. I especially love small towns and rural settings. I love finding abandoned buildings and finding a way to explore them. You can learn so much through the power of observation, and I particularly love old buildings and nature.
What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
My undergraduate degree is in Music Performance on the organ. I have a master's degree in Voice from a seminary in Texas.
What are your credentials? How many years have you been in the industry?
I've loved residential architecture since I was 12. After 10 years of professional music ministry I began a real estate investment firm in 2009, and flipped 70 houses from 2009-2016. MCG was originally an investment firm rather than a construction company! Additionally, I hold real estate licenses in Florida and North Carolina.
What’s your favorite design feature or architectural style?
I love Gothic Revival Architecture, which flourished in the 1840s - 1880s in the United States and Britain.
What is your favorite/ most complex project you’ve worked on?
I love the way 743 Kingfisher turned out. It was a new construction we built in 2020, with amazing interior finishes. I love the mixture of stained wood and metal in the interior.
What’s the one thing that makes a home feel truly special to you?
I love it when people can feel proud of their home. I recently visited with some customers who have lived in their home for several years with their 3 young children. They expressed the desire to "never sell their home", and instead one day pass it along to them. It delighted me to know they love their home that much, and were seeking us out for an addition, to make it even MORE lovely!
If MCG had a signature candle scent, what would it smell like?
An orange. It is the official state fruit for Florida and it is the primary color for MCG. Dating back over one hundred years ago, the orange represents for Florida, the idea of, luxury, growth and health. The orange blossom has a beautiful fragrance, and the orange, itself, has a bright, happy and sweet smell. It befits MCG perfectly!
If you could build a dream home for any fictional character, who would it be?
Heathcliff, from Wuthering Heights
